Grilling and barbecue prove to be more and more popular, according to market research
The popularity of grilling has been on the rise for a few years now and there doesn’t seem to be any sign that it is going to slow down. More people than ever are enjoying outdoor dining experiences and firing up the grill. Whether it’s for a holiday such as Father’s Day or just a normal weekend, the evidence of the popularity of grilling is overwhelmingly clear.
With smoking bans and people’s different lifestyles at play, more and more people are going to outside dining.
No matter what season you enjoy, there is a reason for grilling, and it has nothing to do with the weather. The rise of grilling has also had a good effect on vegetable sales as well. Even though vegetables don’t necessarily cook the same on a grill, there are many recipes you can try.
According to the NPD Group, there has been an increase in sales of grills and smokers between April 2020 and February 2021. The increase is approximately 39%, accounting for 14 million grills and more. October and November had stronger year-over-year sales growth than the 58% dollar increase seen in May 2020. Consumers have turned pandemic-driven boredom into an opportunity to experiment with cooking.
It is interesting that a style of cooking that was once considered only for summertime is now being embraced all year round.
